Rose Garden

From spring to late autumn, Rose Garden offers a feast to the senses. The eyes of 15 kinds of rose varieties just a few steps from the French flower bed have pink, red, coral, white and yellow.

In 1956, Landscape Architect Perry Wheeler helped with the design of the White House Rose Garden, which changed this space to Marjorie Post's unique hobby. He kept a pergola, a stone steps leading to the green, and a round shape, and picked a pergola brick wall with a complicated trademark pavement. There are four flower beds of crown shaped roses in the center, and rose flowers are blooming in each. Since the fence of a boxwood reflects the shape of the pergola, it completes a circular "room".

While taking a walk in a quiet space, Marjorie Post, Marjorie Post, and her daughters choose this garden as the last resting place. In November 1974, in about a year after her death, her ashes were placed at the bottom of the granite monument in the middle of the garden. At the top there is an antique plaque carved from rare dark violet porphyry. Tulips bloom around the monument in the spring, colorful first-year flowers in the summer, chrysanthemum in the autumn. The badge of Marjorie is contained in the base, and the Latin phrase "In me mea plays omni" is included.

Prior to his death, her longtime employee Gus Modig showed flowers at this place to celebrate Marjorie Post's birthday.

The rose garden at the Montreal Botanic Gardens exhibits 10,000 roses in a modern rose garden with lap bed.
