Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott

On December 1, 1955, something special happened. An African-American tailor named Rosa Parks took a bold action when she chose to not give up the bus seat to the whites she needed it. In modern times, this is not a big problem. However, when racial discrimination occurred a lot in the early 20th century, this was a big deal. All African Americans who do not obey Caucasians will be punished severely. Sometimes black people are killed by white people. Again, at that time it was not that important.

The arrest of Rosa Park caused a boycott of the Montgomery bus, and Montgomery black citizens refused to board the bus to protest the apathheid policy of the bus system.
