The Roman Empire contains what is currently thought to be the majority of Western Europe. The empire was conquered by the Roman army and established a lifestyle of Rome in these conquering nations. The main countries conquered were the coastal areas of the UK / Wales (then known as Britannia), Spain (Hispania), France (Gaul or Gallia), Greece (Akaea), Middle East (Jewish) and North Africa did. In the early days of Rome, the country lived a more powerful neighbor, fear of Carthage. The Carthaginians are excellent Mediterranean traders and the Romans want to expand into this trade area and conflict is inevitable. In 264 BC the Romans and the Carthaginians performed the first war. In a series of three wars known as Punic War, the Romans ultimately defeated the Carthagonians. But it took more than 100 years to complete, the war ended in 146 BC.
