From the point of blatant racial discrimination in the whole novel, it is clear that the Logan people face the challenge of living in a society controlled by whites. For example, at school, black children only have books that are considered inappropriate for white children. At home, families continue to defend their land from the influence that the original white owners are trying to bring them back.
Logan people are victims of racial injustice but they oppose it and boycott the Wallace store. Mom and Dad are working hard to educate their children to resist unfairness. This shows hope for future change.
