Robin Hood is not a thief. He just brought back those they had stolen from ordinary people. The leader of this country is a real thief. He accused people being able to pay huge taxes and suppressing them when they were unable to pay. ("Robin Hood: Folk Heroes" 2). This is because he is a thief. There is no need to gather huge taxes that almost can not be paid to anyone and it is not necessary to take maliciously those belonging to others for their own benefit. This is basically the definition of theft.

Tom believes that the hero of the adventure book is a true hero and a role model. Robin Hood is the hero with a thief, so Tom wants to be a thief.
