Robert E. Lee is an outstanding leader of the Confederate army and his military strategy enabled the South to continue to fight for the four horrifying years of the Civil War. The man is still a hero of many Southern states and was born on January 19, 1807 at Anchor Tary and Henry "Light Horse Harry" Lee. His father's repeated failure is the driving force of Li's success. His mother brought up him mainly, where he learned perseverance, control and discipline from a young age.
