Consumers complain about health problems and consumers condemn the use of aspartame. However, eating too much aspartame may endanger human health. It has not been confirmed that the normal amount of aspartame causes health problems. There are many advantages to using aspartame. For example, "Aspartame is a dipeptide (L-aspartyl-phenylalanyl-methyl ester) that is 180 to 200 times sweeter than sucrose" (Stegink, 1837).

Products containing aspartame include powdered soft drink, mint, chewing gum, pudding and padding, jam and jelly, blend of fruit juice, maple syrup, meal replacement, cereal, frozen dessert, canned and carbonated soft drinks (soda) included. Some sweeteners (such as sweetness and low concentration), and some medications such as vitamins and cough drop stops without sugar. Aspartame has become an important part of many low-calorie, sugar-free food and beverages and is the main reason for growth of sugar-free market over the past 20 years.
