Richard Wilhelm Wagner Richard Wilhelm Wagner was born in Leipzig, Germany on May 22, 1813. His work took place through a romantic era. His father died soon after he was born and moved to Dresden in 1814. In 1822, Wagner entered the Dresden Kreutzl. In 1828 he studied at Nicolaischule in Leipzig where he began to coordinate with the conductor Christian Gottlieb Müller. Over the next three years, he created several piano sonatas, overture and seven songs. Inspired by the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Weber and Shakespeare, Goethe and Schiller, he taught himself piano and composition.

Johanna and Geyer got married in August 1814. In the first 14 years of his life, Wagner was called Wilhelm Richard Geyer. Wagner found a letter to his mother in Gaël's later years, gay was actually his biological father and gay suspected to be a Jew.
