Ric Cottom

Ric Cottom, host of "Your Maryland", came to Baltimore more than 40 years ago. He is now an editor and publisher of the Maryland State Historical Society and currently runs a Chesapeake book company that publishes history, biographies and environmental studies of the Chesapeake region.

Ric lives in historic Rowland Park with his wonderful wife Barbara. He likes Maryland's seafood, Hopkins lacrosse, crow football, nice books, tropical islands, and dry martinis, no special order

New York - On June 3 this year, dear husband of Knicks Kans Rios and Ric Swezey of Kate and Luke's father died in a tragic accident. On that day, the family lost his father and the family equality committee lost one of our most valued friends. To celebrate the life of Ric and to reflect their insatiable advocacy for other LGBTQ families, Nick Scandalios asked the family equality committee to accept donations commemorating the memory of Ric. The reaction over the past three months was shocking, showing the true size and depth of the friendship of Ric Swezey, and his positive influence on the people around him. Memories, memories, and donations from home and around the world come from home churches, children's schools, friends, families, and a very supporting Broadway theater community.
