Review of Plato's The Allegory of the Cave

In Plato's "Fable of the Cave", Socrates talks of hardships of understanding reality. Socrates compares prisoners in the underground cave exploring the new world he did not know to the people who are actually trying to find a place of wisdom. According to Socrates, most people rely too much on their feelings, and the world tends to believe that we are seeing. In order to deprive our soul from this spiritual prison Socrates not only prepares for the real world but also suggests that we must go through steps to prevent going in the wrong direction to seek truth education doing.

The fable of the cave is one of the most famous sentences in the history of Western philosophy. This is an excerpt from the beginning of Volume 7 of the "Republic" book.
