Solid Waste Management (SWM) is one of the main causes of environmental degradation in Pakistan. Inappropriate management of solid waste can harm the residents. Recent literature on current waste management practices in the five major cities of Pakistan has been reviewed and efforts have been made to comprehensively review the total production, storage, collection, physical composition, migration, treatment and disposal of urban solid waste ing. Take an overall and decentralized approach to waste management in SW Pakistan. Since only 51 - 69% of the total waste generated in some major cities can be collected, the waste collection system is inadequate. Municipal garbage collection is very irregular and limited to high-income regions. Generally, most disposal sites do not have inappropriate handling facilities or measuring facilities. Inadequate management of hazardous waste in current disposal practices did not adopt an appropriate method. The review of the legal framework revealed the necessity to develop detailed and clear regulations on the specific treatment of solid waste. In addition, public awareness raising, legislative, financial and economic calculations, institutional capacity and regulatory strengthening, and the establishment of appropriate sanitary landfills, the main relief to ensure good environmental preservation It is considered as a measure.
