Respect Education: Healthy Youth Relationships

The Red Cross Health Youth Partnership is an educational program for junior high and high school students to provide young people with knowledge and skills to build healthy relationships and prevent relationship violence.

The Red Cross Health and Youth Relationship Program contains 12 experiencing courses packaged according to specific grade. 7-8, Gr. 9-10, and Gr. 11-12. Year-level courses are interdependent and strengthen learning through games, videos, role-playing and discussion.

1. Use specific grades to incorporate healthy relationship skills into teaching lessons and support outcomes of rural / regional courses.

2. Train students as young counselors and cooperate with teachers to promote healthy youth related courses for young students. Red Cross trainers and students are trained for 14 hours to prove they are young counselors

3. Become a training partner, train school staff as a trainer, and provide training and support to youth counselors each year. As a training partner, staff at your organization will receive courses, materials and supplementary materials.

Before young people start dating it is important to educate young people to respect the characteristics of respect and health and unhealthy relationships.
