Research Proposal for Academic Achievement and Parental Involvement

Abstract Recently, intense debate began due to the education and education system on our children. However, researchers and educators generally think that parents play a very important role in the student's academic development. Parents know that they have advantages over colleagues, educators, counselors and other experts. This study examined the hypothetical relationship between the student's academic achievement and the number of parents involvement.

Recent studies have shown that parent involvement can improve student's academic performance but literature still has to know which specific aspects of parent involvement will contribute to the economic performance of students with economic risk Will not be determined. This study examined the effects of parents 'homework and parents' school participation on the academic performance of 219 economically disadvantaged students at 36 schools in the Midwest. Parents' participation is measured using factors from the parent's survey, and academic performance is measured using results from separate reference controlled achievement tests. A regression analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between a pair of two parent participating variables (ie parent's homework participation and parent's school participation) and academic outcome result variables. Current research suggests the importance of considering various factors that contribute to academic performance in providing parents' homework. The results show that parents' homework participation significantly predicts academic performance, but it only provides a small increase in academic performance. This suggests that other factors are related to performance (eg SES, ethnicity, etc.) and that we need to associate with parent's homework to see further improvements in academic performance.
