Remembrance Day Essay: Ideas to Make It Effective and Powerful

In Canada, 11th November was officially known as an anniversary, but it was also known as a ceasefire day and poppy day. Anniversary was commemorated with many countries, especially members of the federation including Australia and New Zealand (also known as Armistice Day). In the United States, Veteran's Day is the same day. In the UK, the nearest Sunday on 11th November is known as a memorial Sunday. Anniversary symbolizes an artificial poppy worn by the people of the war memorial hall. Poppy can be worn alone, placed as a garland, or placed. Usage of poppy as a symbol of commemoration comes from poetry written by Canadian physician John McCrea. This poem is called Flanders Battlefield and explains where Poppy grows in the Flemish Cemetery.
