Reflections on Independence Day

Think about how much freedom we have and how much freedom will fail on Independence Day. Every day the rightist moralists are trying to weaken the fundamental freedom of our citizens. They are trying to pass a law that limits women's access to medical care, deprives workers' living wages, and sets out who can get married.

Right wing likes to say that freedom is not free. They are right. It's not. We are watching the cost of living for brave men and women uniforms. But it is more important. I have repeatedly said that the freedom established by this country is not the freedom of thinking we love and agree with, but the freedom of our most disliked thought. This is also a free price that everyone must pay.
