The increase in immigrants and demographics in the American classrooms has changed. Therefore, English learners become increasingly common in schools. English learners constitute one of the largest demographics in American classrooms (Flynn & Hill, 2005). As most of these students are located in mainstream classrooms with basic literacy skills, it is observed that the scores of these students differ greatly. Many English learners were born in the USA (Goldenberg, 2008).
