Red Tides

Due to the red tide, many people, such as residents and tourists on the Florida Gulf, are getting sick. Many tourists do not want to come to the beach resort due to the red tide, so the tide is also affecting many business owners. Red tide is caused in two ways. One such method is algae breeding and toxic air production. Many occurrences occurred due to the red tide. These include fish farming and shellfish. To stop the red tide, many researchers have done a lot of experiments trying to find a way to stop the red tide.

Red tide occurs naturally on the coast of the world. Not all red tides are toxins or harmful. Red tide is causing some problems in coastal areas of the United Arab Emirates. People living in coastal areas suffer from the death of numerous fish and cause unpleasant odors. A red tide occurred in coastal areas of UAE at the end of 2008. According to statistics, in August 2008 1,200 tons of fish died due to red tide (see Figure 2). The research carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources on several water samples collected from various regions shows that eight kinds of algae cause red tide. These species include several types that are toxic to fish. As a result, many fish and crustaceans died on the east coast.
