Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week was born in the 1980s following the death of a DEA agent, Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who was kidnapped and killed in Mexico in 1985 due to its involvement in drug prevention activities. The purpose of the program is to raise awareness, provide education on drug abuse, and provide alternative activities for young people. Students from fifth grade to fifth grade in elementary school are invited to participate in posters contest of red ribbon in the city. The theme of this year's poster is "Your life is your journey, travel is non-toxic!" The completed poster must be handed to the community center by 5 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018, based on creativity / creativity, space and color, evidence of child participation, and the use of the subject It will be judged. The Red Ribbon Community Breakfast will be held at La Habra Community Center from 6:30 am to 8:00 am on Thursday, October 25, 2018. Elementary schools in Carnegie and Clifton emphasize drug consciousness and celebrate Red Ribbon Week from October 23rd to 27th. Red Ribbon Week is a channel for students and families to live a non-toxic life through commitment, to face hope and dream-filled future. In this week-long event, bullying prevention behavior was also enhanced and students were warned about the dangers of pressure from their colleagues when using alcohol, tobacco, drugs and violence.
