Red Hot River Blankets: A Warming Hut Installation

In front of the snow of the frozen Asiniboine River, a wool belt like a red felt comes down from under the bridge just before joining with the vast red river. Hanging in two rows, they are designed for skaters and passers-by, so that they can spend the cold. It is a device called "Red Blanket" (Burshtein, Karen) in Toronto's Workshop Architecture and has been held at the annual Red River Mutual Trail since 2010.
