Rebuilding the Virginia Department of Transportation

Virginia State Transit Authority (VDOT) is one of the largest national institutions and has gained a nationwide reputation for traffic safety and innovation dating back to the early 1920s. Until the 1990s when acquisitions and politics shocked the composition of the sector and threatened its public reputation, VDOT also has a history that has been regarded as the most experts among state agencies. Agencies have lost thousands of senior employees planning to prove to be irreplaceable assets and they are beginning to see a decline in revenue.

This research is co-sponsored by Virginia State Transportation Bureau (VDOT) and Virginia State Railway and Public Transportation (DRPT). A stakeholder organization called Transit Operators Committee (TOC) was formed to provide advice and guidance for research. This team consists of transit operators and city and county transportation planners. In 2030, the total AM boarding capacity of bus services that utilize partial corridors exceeds 38,000 people, of which 1. represents an important mode share. This includes a preferred bus / BRT system with boarding over 6,200 AM, serving offline main stations and existing parking and seating areas.

The highway is the backbone of West Virginia's transportation system and has public roads of more than 37,300 miles (60,000 kilometers). Airports, railways and rivers complement the West Virginia commercial transport model. The airports in Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown, Beckley, Lewisburg, Clarksburg and Parkersburg make civil aviation travel easy. Except for Charleston and Huntington, all of these are subsidized by the US Department of Transport's basic air service program. Public public transportation is available on the buses such as Charleston, Huntington, Beckley, Welling, Morgantown, Clarksburg, Parkersburg and Fairmont. Huntington and Charleston operate twice a week.
