The front page of tabloid paper of reality and imaginary supermarket is often overwhelmed with a stupid heading like "a human baby born from a dog's head". Or "Orsen twin beat anorexia and get 200 pounds!" These headings indicate the type of information the magazine contains - sensational, horrifying, often lying stories. Despite these titles, their sensational nature sometimes evokes the reader's curiosity and urges them to read them further. Tabloids are not a particularly respected literary type, but Gloria Sawai is using it for her own purposes in her writing.
I understand this way when it comes to my own research on this topic. The reality definitely influences the novel, and the novel will influence the reality. This effect is not always seriously affected or discernible, but it is. This is more fictitious than a metaphor considered to be harmful because the people of LGBT +, people of color, people with disabilities, etc. reflects the beliefs of prejudice people have against these groups It is a reason to better represent the group members in the media. It helps to maintain the commonality of these beliefs. The ultimate goal is to fundamentally solve these ideas until these ideas become fully popular, or until they do not leave the imaginary media at least. This is more than just speculation. For example, in the 2012 survey, television is known to reduce the self-esteem of black girls, black boys, white girls.
Everyone who does not evaluate a novel does not understand the reality. The reality is fictitious. It is not an illusion as suggested by mystics but an image that our brain tells us what the world should be like. Our brains forget to work through a limited set of data gathered by reading, experiencing, and (and now more commonly) social media. This answer will disappoint a lot of people, but please take this into account. Non-fiction can not truly reproduce the reality. In order to explain each variable, each event, each surrounding character, it contributes in some small way (also known as "Lorentz effect"). It is impossible to objectively correlate events in real time when covering each angle.
