Reading Response to “Two Kinds”

Amy Tan's short story "Two Types" proved to be an emotional and moving story. The hero is a small girl named Ni Kuang. She received a lot of pressure from her mother and became a child 's genius. Ni Kuang believes that she always disappoints her mother and will never achieve her expectations. At the beginning of the story, Ni Kuang seems to have low self-esteem at the beginning of the story. The day after battle with her mother she promptly gazed at her thoughts and did not let her mother change to a person without him. I was surprised to learn that a young girl realized this and had the courage to step in under her mother. My mother wants to know why Ni Kuang always attempts to turn into a genius they see on television. She seems to adore these children. I think that this is related to her own pride. If her child is a child's genius, she may have been a mother of a child genius, it is accomplishment by itself. Ni Kuang's mother always seems to get angry with other talented children. She never gave Ni Kan encouraging words. I am convinced that Ni Kuang's mother has lost her family in China. This is related to the treatment of Ni Kuang. I am very sad to see Ni Kuang and her mother are not in a normal relationship. They always fight each other. But it is clear that Ni Kan's mother likes Ni Kan. I just want to make her best. In my longstanding reading, I felt two main doubts. The good thing is what I call "real suspense". This is a suspense and I will question the question "What will happen next?" And this suspense arises systematically and truly from characters and their behavior and tells us a consistent view through the establishment of the company. Writing is perceptual, first of all our eyes (those clouds that roll over the moon and draw a scene in the light with black shadows) then our ears (a truly branch, a dry branch). Certainly, the author may also appeal to other senses (odor of the musty forest, coldness, moisture), but two-fifths is not bad. No one can tell that this scene lacks a mystery, surprise, or doubt. In fact, this first page contains all three in a very small space.

Use scenario and analysis. All stories are composed of two kinds of sentences: scene and analysis. Scenes happen when you need to slow down and speak the exact details of the important moment in the story. The scene is a small moment that takes time to read.
