Reader's Response Paper - Purchasing and Breeding Slaves: Uncontrollable Slave My first response to a letter by G. B. Wallace is messed up. When I read the title "Slave Purchasing and Breeding: British Wallace, Slave Slave" again, I noticed that this was just a business letter between the slave owner and his colleagues. . The language of this letter is obsolete compared to the language of modern America, so it creates small obstacles, but with a little effort you can see the author's intention.
The response of slave owner and merchant to the supply of slaves is to forge the fertility of slave families by cultivating slaves like animals. This breeding involves combining the main hybrid and stallions and females that increase the number of slaves. This pairing is not based on consent The impact of this act brings about the environment of sexual anarchists and slave families can not survive intact. Women are openly forced to interact with many men, and vice versa. The subsequent environment seriously weakened the social structure of the slave society and created a very chaotic commune (Donoghue, 2008).
Slave breeding is an attempt by slave owners to benefit from influencing their own slave breeding. It is an obsessive relationship between male and female slaves, promoting slave pregnancy, creating sexual relations between slaves and children with slave children, and supporting women's slaves with many children. Nobel economist Robert Fogel opposed slavery and sexual exploitation in an effort to destroy controversial black family in the 1970s. Fogel thinks that the economic interests of slave families is to promote the stability of slave families and that most people do so because families are the basic unit of social organization under slavery I will. Most slave sales are either whole family members or individuals of normal age when leaving home. But the previous slave testimony does not support Vogel 's view.
African imports to Americans will be sold as slaves in 1808. The slave owner had to rely on the natural growth of the slave population to increase the labor force. This means breeding slaves and many slaves are worried that their children, brothers and other relatives suffer if they rebel. Escape is another form of resistance. The most frequently avoided slaves did this in a very short time. These uncontrollable slaves may be hidden in nearby forests and visit relatives or spouses in other farms. They do this to escape the harsh punishment being threatened, to get relief from heavy workload, or simply to avoid chores of everyday life under slavery.
