Rainwater Harvesting: Conserving Water at DHS

Decatur High School uses water for multiple tasks everyday. Depending on whether there is no ready-made water service, the Department of Homeland Security can not function whether to water the school lawn, wash the animals in the Ag building, water the greenhouse plants, or cook them in the dining room and wash their hands . Unfortunately, due to extreme droughts, Texas water resources have been getting less and less in recent years. Since the supply of water is limited in Wai-gun and surrounding areas, the Department of Homeland Security needs to install a rain water storage system.

Collecting rainwater and using rainwater buckets is an easy way to save water outdoors. Rainwater retention can be accomplished by placing a plastic container (eg, a rugged trash can) under the down pipe to collect water from the roof. Rainwater collection containers should be covered tightly to prevent mosquitoes laying eggs, and small animals trapped inside. By installing water-saving type piping facilities and equipment, we can save water and energy and reduce wastewater. Its benefits include depletion of capital expenditure for public utility systems that provide homeowners' utility fee reduction, water supply, energy, sewer service, cleaner and better environment for all.

Therefore, water saving is very important. Currently, the government is making efforts to promote the use of rainwater. But I have a responsibility to obey this. Water is almost in danger. Unfavorable climatic conditions, global warming affect water circulation. It is said that harvesting rainwater can meet about 50% of household water demand. Therefore, protection of water is essential, and rainwater use is an effective method. Tamil Nadu Province is a state that practices this goal in India. But now it is the first state to force rainwater collection in India. The state government of Tamil Nadu announced on May 30, 2014 that it will establish about 50,000 rainwater storage facilities around Chennai.
