Racial Profiling in Airports

After the US tragedy of September 11, 2001, the issue of airport security became the focus of intense debate today. The United States needs to protect itself against terrorist attacks, but several homeland security schemes are superior to others. In January 2010, the Obama administration announced that passengers at 14 airports including Pakistan, Yemen and Saudi Arabia will undergo rigorous inspections before traveling to the United States (Schneier). Basically, airport security officers have the right to discriminate against Arab-type passengers for their country of origin.

... After the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center in New York and the terrorist attack on the Pentagon, discussions on airport race profiling are intensifying. Many people think that profiling is the best way to identify potential terrorists, but many people are worried about civil liberty infringement. Several airports are only aimed at aiming passengers based on their origin, but other airports will start a random search. It seems impossible to exclude terrorism with these technologies. Many experts on government and airport security are currently recommending the use of national ID cards or safe travel cards. If all US citizens have such cards, the airline can screen out terrorists more effectively than currently and avoid the process of selecting individuals based solely on race.

Stereotypes based on racial differences alone and discrimination are two things that have been disappointing recently and today. Since September 11, airport racial profiling has been rigorously implemented to ensure the safety of Americans. Smoking cessation in almost all Arabs or "suspicious" people is proved to be beneficial, like those who are often accused of harming other people. In addition, airport security is doing excellent work to identify genuine terrorists and someone of any race. This distorted justice view must be admitted and must be stopped. "Random" stops before and after boarding will not only violate the individual's individual rights but also cause artificial temptations to people of a particular group, indicating ignorance related to racial discrimination.
