At the seminar we explored the relationship between African gender and history in Latin America and the Caribbean, and their people. In this course, pay particular attention to the experience of women in Diaspora in Africa, and male experience and its male expression, and how gender reading challenges our understanding and assumptions about Diaspora's historical events I will check it. The reading of the course will be an interdisciplinary one, including novels, autobiography / biographies, like the history of Prince Mary, the only biography of a woman enslaved in the Caribbean. From a theoretical point of view, gender is an important and essential historical analysis of the interrelationship among race, class and other factors.
