Definition of quality and patient safety: Consumers have different views on the quality and safety of medical practices (Shi, L. & Singh, D., 2012). According to the Institute of Medical Research (Shi, L. & Singh, D., 2012), the quality of medical care is defined as the ability to achieve the expected health results consistent with expert information. Safety is definitely achieved by providing effective care (Menachemi, N., Saunders, C., Chukmaitov, A., Matthews, M., & Brooks, R. C., 2007).
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the patient safety culture of five general hospitals in Belgium. Safety culture plays an important role in improving the safety of hospitalized patients. The questionnaire of the patient safety culture hospital was distributed to five general hospitals throughout the hospital. It evaluated the aspects of safety culture of 10 patients and two outcomes. The score is expressed as a percentage of positive answers to patient safety for each dimension. The survey took place from March to November 2005. A total of 3,940 respondents (total responses including 2,813 nurses and assistants, 462 doctors, 397 physiotherapists, laboratory and radiology assistants, social workers, and 64 pharmacists and pharmacies) Rate = 77%). Assistant In all hospitals, I found that the plus score of the dimension is as low as the average. Team work in the hospital got the highest score (70%)
Hospital pharmacies can usually be found in the hospital. Hospital pharmacies usually store more medicines, including special medicines that are more viable than the local environment. Most hospital medicines are unit dose or single dose medication. Hospital pharmacists and trained pharmacy technicians will provide patients with a combination of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and sterilized products including other drugs to be administered intravenously. This is a complex process that requires proper training of personnel, product quality assurance, and appropriate equipment. Some hospital pharmacies have decided to outsource high-risk formulations and other complex functions to companies specializing in composite materials.
