As with SPEECH COMMUNITY, the emphasis on the use of personal language is the social relationship and it is managed by specific group or community specific custom. However, while the conversation community is a social language group with communication needs such as socialization and group solidarity, the discourse community is usually distinguished from the "speech community" because it is a group based on common interests . The "discourse community" is also often used to express concerns about written texts rather than verbal texts, such as writing in academic discourse community or reading magazines for teenagers. Swales (1990) has developed an influential discourse community definition functional model listing the following features.
The main criticism of the discourse community such as the speech community and other related terms the practice community is the implicit homogeneity of the community and its related language practices, usually the ideal essence.

Reading is very confused, but Swales is doing a good job to summarize the definition of his interactive community. Swales uses six predefined functions to identify groups of individuals as discourse communities. These features give me a better understanding of the discourse community as it outlines the main points. But the most striking thing for me is the last statement that the discourse community has the relevant level of relevant content and discourse expertise. To maintain the discourse community, you should have both experienced and inexperienced members. Also, if you join the discussion community, you will join the community until something goes wrong. For example, I am a high school discourse community, my baseball team. We all share a common interest, we also have our own language and slang
As we discussed it in class, I am familiar with the six characteristics of the discourse community. First, I will explain the discourse community that has a common purpose and concern. The second argument is that the discourse community must have a way to communicate with other members like group conferences. The third argument is that the discourse community is participating in relevant information that will help us achieve that purpose. Just as CrossFitters pays CrossFit journals and actively participates. Fourth, the discourse community will develop and exploit different types to convey goals and events. Newspapers and Web sites updated everyday. The fifth explains the discourse community to include languages strictly used in specific communities. People outside the community may not know like the words that explain their actions and equipment to use.
The discourse community is a group of people who share a series of discourses that are understood as basic values and assumptions, and how they are communicated. John Swales, a linguist, defines the discourse community as "a group with goals or purpose and use communication to achieve these goals." Some examples of discourse communities may be those who read or post particular journals or members of Madonna Fan's email list. Each discourse community has its own undocumented rule on what can be said and how it can be said. It may be appreciated that Freud analyzed the latest work of Madonna. Most people move in and around different discourse communities everyday.
