I visited Pune 's Shaniwarwada Fort, located in Peugeot' s Bajoro Road near Pune 's Muni - Muta River. This vast fort was built between 1730 and 1732. There is a huge wall and it is surrounded by five huge entrance gates (Dilli Darwaja, Khidki Darwaja, Mastani Darwaja, Narayan Darwaja, Ganesh Darwaja). Dilli Darwaja is the main gate of the complex, heading north towards Delhi. The powerfully built Dilli Darwaja gate house has a huge door large enough to accommodate a canopied elephant. To prevent an elephant from charging the gate, each window pane in the gate has 72 sharp 12 inch steel nails placed in a 9 × 8 grid at approximately the height of the battle amount. Each glass plate is also reinforced with a steel beam and the frame is securely fastened with a steel bolt with a sharp pointed head. Do not miss traveling to the attractions of Pune!
