Block chains are diverse and can be processed from various viewpoints. For the purpose of this article, I would like to define the block chain as a public distributed database that holds public records in the attached way. In addition, once added to the database (block chain), you can not change records, it is difficult to forge entries. The last function is called persistence. If you need to update an entry (block chain) in the database, you need to add a new record to the existing information. Finally, everyone in the general public can view each record, so anyone can independently verify the reliability of each transaction recorded for any one entry (block chain) in the database. This transparency means that block chains are auditable.

From a technical point of view, block chains are commonly the only attached schedule ledger (database). There is no central authority to manage this database. Add an entry (no update) to the database via the agreement voting system. As it takes some time to get a reasonable number of votes on a worldwide basis, the Block-chain is currently designed to wait 10 minutes. There is a fee to maintain this distributed additional ledger. As of 2018, electricity of 3 million dollars is needed to maintain the database. Hardware depreciation costs approximately $ 1,000,000,000 per year. These costs do not include any other expenses necessary to operate a successful mining farm, including labor.
