My library: Public libraries celebrating county public libraries play an important role in the lives of many Americans, from early education to advanced services. Most Americans think their local library has improved their community (94%), and equally important people (65%) visited at least once in the past year (American Library Association, 2010 ). Inhabitants of Connecticut are no exception. As of 2007, Connecticut added 195 public libraries, including approximately 15.5 million books, and ranked third in the per capita library visit nationwide with five visits per person (National Education Statistics for 2009, 2009).
Many public libraries including the Los Angeles Public Library, the New York Public Library / Donald Library Center, the Boston Public Library, the Denver Public Library, the Miami / Dade Public Library, and the Detroit Public Library are widely available.
