The average life expectancy of men and women is increasing due to medical advances. Most people think that this is a positive movement? What are the disadvantages of the aging of individuals and social population? Support your opinion with reasons and examples

Over the past 50 years, the average life span of men and women has increased substantially in almost all countries. This improvement of the number of years human beings are expected to live is due to medical advances and affordable medical costs. I think this will have a positive and negative impact on both individuals and society.

Even at the age of 65, as the average life expectancy grows, more and more people can make economic contributions. Therefore, in the development of the organization, society, and the country, we can make better use of our long experience. In addition, long life is beneficial for both family and society. Children not only benefit from the love and care of grandparents, but the whole family and society as a whole also benefit from their advice.

In spite of many advantages, increasing age has brought a number of disadvantages Because the elderly are more susceptible to disease, the medical costs of the country are much higher for these people. Because older people account for more than 15% of the population of most developed countries and more diseases than members of other societies, their medical expenses are tremendous. Therefore, funds that may have been used to build next generation schools, universities, airports, roads etc. are used to take care of the elderly.

In addition, longer life expects fewer young people to enter the labor market. Therefore, people over the age of 60 continue to use the old technology, but young people who are familiar with the latest technology do not have the opportunity to work. It severely hinders the economy, productivity and gross output of GDP. Furthermore, young people facing jobs with high unemployment rates and high salaries are expected to have a heavy burden on pensioners. In some developed countries, life expectancy is over 85 years old, and many people spend years to retire at work. I am convinced that even the wealthiest society will not be willing to bear this economic burden.

In short, the increase in life expectancy has produced great economic and social benefits, but it has some drawbacks. However, by lowering the retirement age, we can balance the young generation while providing the honorable work to the elderly to help them understand the business and government system.
