Critically evaluate the degree of influence of patient's beliefs on their experience and correspondence to health management. Our personal beliefs have a positive or negative influence on our healthy behavior. Faith in health is related to intake and is measured using various models. For example, Bish et al. (2000) predicting the intake of a conventional cervical smear using the Health Belief Model (HBM) and the Planned Behavior Theory (TPB). An individual model is an expression of a patient's illness including knowledge of the patient's health, belief, experience, and emotion (Petrie & Weinman, 1997; Skelton & Croyle, 1991).
Health psychology is the application of psychology theory and research in health, illness and health. Clinical psychology focuses on mental health and neurological diseases, but health psychology focuses on healthy diets, physician-patient relationships, patient understanding of health information, and broader health including disease recognition Focused on related behavioral psychology. Health psychologists can participate in public health campaigns to investigate the impact of disease or health policy on the quality of life and the psychological impact on health and social care
Health psychology is an important business in the integration of biomedical and social sciences in medicine. It explains the role of psychological factors in health, illness, progression and outcome (Ogden, 2007). Psychological theory leads to health education and health promotion and health workers can provide a systematic way to understand and meet the health needs of health and social welfare service users (Morrison and Bennett, 2009). Evaluation of health psychology models will help evaluate understanding of health care workers, health-related behaviors, and medical practices of health care workers. Through assessment and evaluation, health professionals can apply psychological models and theories in analyzing health and behavior aspects relevant to clinical practice (Marks et al., 2005).
There are many aspects of how health affects people and how people experience health and illness. The bio-psychosocial health management model developed by Engel (J. Ogden, 2012) considers the relationship between biological, psychological and social factors. These factors interact to demonstrate interactions between biological, psychological, and social aspects and use examples. An example is a 42-year-old woman diagnosed as fibromyalgia ten years ago, later called Miss W. That condition not only affected her physical condition but also changed her lifestyle completely. Her daily activities are now very different, and it affects her personality. She can not maintain work or social activities because of physical problems. Declining social interaction and her financial situation influenced her mental state, and indeed the symptoms exacerbated her physical symptoms.
