Psychoanalysis of Fight Club Using Freudian Concepts

Fight club is a movie based on the novel of the same name by Chuck Palafu Nouk. This film was released by David Fincher's director Jim Urs and was released on October 15, 1999. This movie is about the insomnia of a narrator, insomnia who was a recall coordinator of an automobile company in the past. The narrator was refused to take medicine by the doctor, turned to a series of support groups for various diseases and used these support groups for emotional release.

Freud's psychoanalysis is dead. Several assassins, originally killed in the form of Caesar, attacked the theory in their attacks. Simone de Beauvoir was one of the assassins who initially fought against positivism, existentialism, feminism. But it certainly is not the one who started the blow. Like Caesar's influence, Freud's psychoanalytic resurgence reverberated until today. The influence of Freud 's psychoanalysis can be seen through the Western society, even the assassin' s existential and even feminist descendants.

Based on Freud's psychoanalysis, research papers try to study the character in this novel from that point of view. Psychoanalysis theory is the concept of character development and the dynamics of its change. It studies the influence of childhood impression on adult personality development and its psychological function. It focuses on personality-based thinking, including separation of mind into identity, self and superego, repression, relocation and illusion. This research thesis studies and analyzes these ideas related to the personality in the novel. Also, I will explore the author's idea based on this novel.

The author well describes psychoanalysis theory. Although a little short, if you understand to some extent about this topic, you can understand the outline of the psychoanalysis given. You can further explain concepts such as latent period and electrore complex. Again, there is no explanation about Freud's slip and "paraparax" at all. Beystehner also pointed out that relocation has both positive and negative aspects, but he did not give enough explanation. Criticism of Beystehner's psychoanalysis seems to be much stronger than defense theory. For example, Freud's data "bad or invalid" suggests that Freud's theory is not based on science, but rather a highly influential argument against theory.
