In this article, I will explain James Hillman 's response to Re - visioning Psychology. I thought this book was interesting and refreshing. Hillman considers the main reality to be a mind. However, the mind is made up of prototype letters and can be called "spirit". Hillman uses Greek mythological gods to explain these typical character types. Freud's self is also a typical personality, in this case hero of heroic myth. They are inhumane, but the gods have specific personality. Furthermore, they are the main reality. Because God has personality, therefore we are such people. This interesting idea overrides the usual notion that people's personal qualities are projected onto the mysterious system of human inventions.
