Mr. Michelle Obama did some hot discussions in 2008: as he said: "I am proud of my country for the first time I am an adult ..."
On the left side of American politics, this kind of emotion is not uncommon. According to a new study by the Pew Research Center, only 40% of liberal Americans are proud that they are Americans.
The findings are included in Pew's new "Political Typology" report. It divides Americans into seven different categories - not three normal categories. Among the seven categories, "stable liberal" is the only group saying that most people are not proud that they are American.
By contrast, over seventh of "firm conservatives" and over eight tenths of "commercial conservatives", they say they are generally proud of being Americans.
Poll also shows that many liberals do not compare with ordinary Americans. Only 51% said they felt "typical Americans" - in contrast, three-quarters of conservative people and at least two-thirds of other conservative people
The results are different from other recent polls that tested similar problems. In 2011, Fox News realized that Democrats are more proud than Republicans.
There is no doubt that some of the differences in the new opinion polls are to deeply explore the differences between other liberalists that Pew may contradict actual liberalists. Pew's definition of "solid liberals" is only 15% of the US population, much smaller than "liberal" and Democrats.
The second question is asking if Pew thinks "I am very proud of being an American." Obviously, this is a higher standard than asking people if they are proud of their country.
Sound liberal does not want much to say that there are less differences and they are often proud that they are Americans. In fact, 60% of solid liberals argue that they are often not proud that they are Americans. Even more interestingly, about half of them regard themselves as "typical Americans", and the other half do not regard themselves as typical Americans. Most Americans think of themselves as "typical Americans" if you want to know. In addition to solid liberal, this self-description of a typical American spans all groups. Most solid liberal does not consider himself a typical American. In the Pew's study, solid libers are asked whether they think that solid libers are smarter, more knowledgeable, smarter, or more globally conscious than "typical Americans" I have not fully investigated why I do not consider myself a "typical American".
Most American adults say they are still proud of being Americans. According to the Gallup poll of March 2017, the greatest decrease in Americans who claim to be "very" or "very" proud is occurring between the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party. The patriotic performance of Republicans and independents has hardly declined. 92 percent of Republicans said they are proud that they are "very" or "very" Americans.
A recent survey by Gallup, American Enterprise Association and Pew Research Institute shows that Americans claim to be "very proud" to be a percentage of Americans. Even so, there are still quite a few Americans who are still proud, whether extreme or moderate. The smallest patriot is liberal and young. An annual Gallup survey published in July 2016 showed that Americans are "very proud" to be the lowest percentage of Americans since the poll began 16 years ago It is.
