Proposed Capacity Building Programme Calendar

Kaushal Praveen: The trainer training program began on December 20, 2017, and completed two batches successfully.

In 2011, UNITAR began developing a regional capacity development program in collaboration with ADPC. This program began in Vietnam the following year, in Myanmar the following year and in Bangladesh in 2014. The capacity building project provided a training course dedicated to the use of geographical information technology (GIT) for disaster risk mitigation by UNITAR UNITAR satellite program experts. Through ADPC, Mr. Bushra was able to join the GIT training course with UNITAR, where he was able to learn more about GIS analysis. Fifteen days of training taught her a lot and she found that the counselor is knowledgeable and kind. Bushra said there are some early problems such as forecasting and data analysis.

The Official Development Assistance Project of Capacity Building also focuses on government capacity building in strategic planning, disaster prevention, vulnerability assessment, and national reporting. JICA's plan is almost completely composed of training and relocation of Japanese expertise. Many projects of the Australian International Development Agency are committed to improving the skills and institutional framework of public agencies and providing training to monitor the impacts of climate change. It is worth noting that the Marrakesh Declaration focuses on capacity building. We urged multilateral donor countries, particularly the global environmental facilities and bilateral donor countries, to implement a capacity building framework for developing countries ("UNFCCC" report, COP 7, 2002).
