Characteristics of High Content Fly Ash Concrete Fly Ash is a waste of coal-based thermal power plants. These thermal power plants in Turkey produce about 7 million tons of fly ash annually. To use these materials extensively, cooperative efforts are necessary. These papers present the results of a survey of the properties of fly ash concrete made from ASTM Class C fly ash from two sources. PC 42, 5 cement used in the experiment conform to TS 19 (Turkey standard).

Today, many new forms of geopolymer concrete are being studied. Ash from coal fired power generation known as fly ash has many chemical properties of volcanic ash and is a large amount of aluminum silicate source for geopolymer reaction. CalStar uses fly ash to make unstructured cosmetic tiles and utilizes geopolymers to reduce the energy of conventional bricks. Ceratech manufactures high strength geopolymer concrete by combining fly ash with an alkaline activator while significantly reducing CO2 emissions in order to manufacture concrete without using Portland cement

Fly Ash: By-products of coal-fired power plants (up to 60% by mass) used to replace parts of Portland cement. The nature of fly ash varies depending on the type of coal burning. In general, siliceous fly ash is pozzolan and calcareous fly ash has potential hydraulic properties. Silicon powder: a by-product of the manufacture of silicon and ferrosilicon. Silica fume resembles fly ash, but its particle size is one hundredth. This results in a higher surface area to volume ratio and a faster pozzolanic reaction. Silica fume is used to increase the strength and durability of concrete, but normally it is necessary to use a fluidizing agent to improve processability.

High strength concrete uses various mineral admixtures such as silica fume, fly ash, granulated blast furnace slag and fluidizing agent to increase the strength of high strength concrete. Most high strength concrete applications use the strength characteristics of the material. However, high strength concrete can have various other features that are highly advantageous to the construction industry. Various studies on high-strength concrete have been conducted to study other properties of HSC.
