Paleolithic Art Paleolithic art was primarily used as part of a ceremony to promote successful hunting and fertility. In Europe about 30,000 years ago, the art of the Old Stone Age was one of the earliest arts. The first few works were cave paintings, rocks and sculptures, and accessories (Knopf, 4). The Paleolithic art tells us about the earliest ways of art and life, and it shows the artistic abilities of artists who create art and demonstrate artistic abilities. Paleolithic artists understood and practiced perspective paintings.
The function and purpose of the art of the Paleolithic are still controversial. Some scholars are watching human and animal performances as evidence of the use of magic rituals to succeed hunting or to secure fertility. Others believe that the exact representation of animal coats by the Paleolithic artists may be an early attempt to create a symbol of the season. Another way of ignoring practicality completely is to regard the art of the Paleolithic Age as a product of human creativity and record and recreate the basic needs of all aspects of the world.
The Paleolithic people had rituals related to many hunting and believed in the influence of the spirit of wildlife on humans. In the Neolithic Age, people were more concerned about the importance of reproductive ability. Depending on the fertility of the land where crops can be grown, the fertility of people's livestock, and the fertility of women, children can do the old job of the field and its parents. Therefore, the Neolithic people worship the Mother Goddess, the goddess of the earth, and she also represents the plant's life cycle. She died and disappeared in the cold, and was reborn in the spring. Mother goddess is a natural lover, a guardian of animals and crops. She was drawn as a small clay figure that could take the form of a girl or a woman giving birth.
Like all the eras of art of the stone age, what happened in daily life has had a big impact on the art of this age. People of the Paleolithic Age, as a symbol of infertility called Lascaux cave mural and Venus, concentrated all their energy on finding food and breeding. In contrast, people in the Neolithic Age discovered that cultivation of crops became safer. In fact, something happened because agricultural settlements in the Neolithic Age dominated their food supply and became less susceptible to predators. Firstly, the population has expanded significantly from 8 million to 65 million in 5000 years. Second, communities become more conscious of their "territory" and become more protected. They often merge with other people to make big settlements and (ultimate) cities. Third, they are more organized and become more hierarchical. Finally, the Neolithic people began to develop a belief system for supernatural gods.
