Promoting Innovation in Science and Mathematics

The Burroughs welcome fund supports educational experts to provide high quality practice and quest activities. PRISM promotes the excitement of science and mathematics in the classroom by funding materials, equipment, and supplies related to the implementation of quality classes and activities in the classroom.

This award is available for up to $ 3,000 a year to cover equipment, materials and supplies. An additional $ 1,500 may be required for professional development related to the introduction of new equipment and teaching materials in the classroom. Scholarships will be awarded to professional educators who teach at the K - 12 public school in North Carolina State

Every year, mathematics and computer science department recommend five mathematics majors and become members of the American Mathematical Society. The J. R. Lancaster Award will be awarded to students who best express freely educated mathematical students. The E. R. Sleight Award and the Ronald C. Every summer, several students receive grants from Kresge researchers and other mathematical independent research projects.
