Primary & Secondary Assessment

The purpose of the initial evaluation is to protect the victim and to take action as necessary. Once the condition of the victim's threat is resolved, the rescuer must receive a secondary assessment - monitoring his condition, collecting information and dealing with other situations requiring treatment .
