Human beings are typical social beings and our faces occupy the central place of our social interaction. The way they do this and the reason is the focus of this chapter. Due to the rapid increase in facial expression research that has been carried out over the past 20 years, this chapter is not comprehensive, it is an unavoidable choice. Instead, we focus on central discussion: It is wrong to focus on emotion as a traditional way to describe the facial expression of our face. We believe that face signs are better seen as "social tools" that change the trajectory of our social interactions. Let's begin with a brief introduction of facial effects.
