Preventing Wrongful Convictions

Whenever an innocent person based on DNA testing is permitted, the law enforcement agency sees the cause of a false conviction. There are many problems leading to innocent lives such as misunderstandings by witnesses, false confessions, incomplete forensic science, etc. (Gould and Leo 18). When witnesses are brought to the police station to identify suspects, their memory is easily blurred and their judgment is affected. By doing this, the witness can actually find innocent suspects.

In recent years, the Texas lawmakers passed a measure aimed at preventing mistaken beliefs like Scott. This push will continue this year. In May, Congress passed a bill regulating the use of jail information providers and asked the police to record a trial at a trial of a felony judgment, strengthening the police lineup to ensure the identity of the witness.
