The process of producing nuclear power begins with the production of fuel sources. Uranium ore deposits are rich in uranium isotopes 238 U and 235 U, which are fissile substances needed to supply nuclear power plants. Nuclear fission means that the core tends to split when the core is in contact with neutrons moving at the correct speed. Uranium mining is generally an open pit mine around the world. In situ leaching mining is common in the United States and is shown in the figure. This process involves pumping the slurry along the horizon including the uranium ore deposit to further deposit sediments in the other well along the horizon.
From the birth of nuclear energy in the 1950s to the 1970s, American companies dominated the world nuclear industry. Meanwhile, US companies funded nearly half of the world's nuclear power plants and established billions of dollars in the domestic industry. However, the US began to lose market share in the 1980s and reached the lowest value of 4%. Currently planned and only 7% of the total nuclear power capacity under construction in the world is from US companies. Given the fact that the economic and geopolitical advantages are lost as the nuclear industry shrinks, there is a concern that the market share of the US will decline. To make matters worse, our losses are our competitors, especially China and Russia, and they are beyond the world market by providing attractive government funds for government transactions and state subsidies to go.
Through special public investment, the United States developed nuclear energy technology. It dominates the world market and gains tremendous benefits in the process. But the world has overtaken us. Advanced nuclear reactors will again confound the market and offer the opportunity to occupy the majority of the $ 3 trillion nuclear power plants to be purchased by 2050. If it accounts for only 10% of this market, we need $ 300 billion to provide long-term business opportunities for US companies. This does not even include the new energy market, where advanced nuclear reactors may open. With such high interests, Washington should give priority to the commercialization of advanced reactors and ensure that US nuclear energy innovators bring their technology to the end and enter the market.
Continue to invest in US tactical nuclear weapons and their means of delivery. US tactical nuclear weapons prevented allies from pursuing their nuclear weapons capabilities or expanding their nuclear weapons. They will continue to play this important role in future as other countries actively realize the modernization of their nuclear weapons and the emergence of new nuclear weapon states. US tactical nuclear weapons in Europe is a clear sign of the political commitment to NATO and its member security. For this purpose, the United States must implement at least the B-61 gravity bomb life extension program, provide nuclear transport capacity to F-35 jet fighters, and modernize airborne cruise missiles. As an additional measure, the United States can also begin the development of nuclear submarines for cruising theater targets to provide naval F - 35 with nuclear transport capacity and launch cruise or ballistic missiles.
