Prejudice and Discrimination in ZZ Packer´s Story: Brownies

In 2003, African-American writer ZZ Packer shows a series of short stories "Drink coffee elsewhere", and "Browny" is one of the most highly valued readings. Prejudice and racial discrimination are still obvious through the story. The author shows racial discrimination and stories of humanity through Laurel's eyes He is a fourth grade student. The story takes place at Camp Crescendo, a suburb of southern Atlanta, Georgia. A group of six young girls in camp. They are African-American girls working on a plan to retaliate against white girls belonging to 909 troops.

The short story "Browny" was written by the author ZZ Packer. We are developing mainly in the 4th grade African American Brownie group moving to a campsite in the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. During the trip, they met another white brownie group of girls. And all of them were mentally disabled people. "Brownie" is from the perspective of first participation through brownie members from the African-American team named Laurel.

During my first Books @ Work session, we read the "Brownies" of ZZ Packer. It is a moving story about the little black girl's brownie team.
