Prejudice Against Women Depicted in Glaspell's, A Jury of Her Peers

Susan Grass Pell 's "her fellow jury" is a story that shows how women were biased in the early 20 th century. The story develops around Minnie Wright and Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters at the Murders Investigation Center, and they have decided their own judgment and fate for Mrs. Wright. Women are at the height of gender discrimination, but Susan Grasspel demonstrates that women's relationships and intuition are far better than that of men. The struggle faced by women throughout the story shows how hard it is for women to live in a male dominated world.

When published in 1917, Susan Grasspell's short story "jury of the jury" was hardly recognized. Her career as a playwright. In Iowa where Graspel was born and raised, her fellow jury told a story about the day in a woman's life named Martha Hale. Susan Grass Pell's "her fellow juror" is a short story that shows us a sexual conflict in society. In the 1800's, men were the people who gained family voice and control. In this story, Mrs. Light killed her husband for her own freedom and freedom. Susan Glaspell thinks that women in society have no freedom, so I like women in this story. On the other hand, the man is a bad guy, Mr. Hale, a friend of John Wright, found a murder of John Wright when he visited him. Minnie Wright told him that her husband died. The following morning Mr. Hale, sheriff, and wife and county public prosecutor found evidence that Mrs. Light was found guilty next to the house. The man was looking for evidence in the bedroom, but no evidence was found to prove her guilty.
