Postmodern films appeared in the 1980's and 1990's, became a powerful creative force in Hollywood's filmmaking, and helped form the historical fusion of technology, media culture and consumerism. Postmodern films are based on modernist's cultural tradition, based on the beliefs of historical progress, norms of industrial society, and enlightenment.
