Summary My research focuses on Asian American coverage in modern mass media. The following types of media have been researched: music, television, movies, magazines I cited several examples that Asian Americans are used to very simple characters. These roles are defined by the stereotypes that exist in the United States. I also studied the measures taken by Asian Americans to protest against these negative images. My research also has examples of Asians who have overcome the racial barriers of the media.
Asian Americans are "models of ethnic minorities". After listening to the concerns of the Asian-American community about media images, some producers made sincere efforts to create more positive depictions. Unfortunately, some of them explain too far in other directions, which indicates that Asians are so perfect that they are deprived of any humanity. In particular, the image of Asian Americans is excessive, and there are rarely emotional lives (for example, an Asian American classmate "Pearl" in a homestay of canceled television) is a general negative explanation It is as limited as. No one wants to disinfect all the shortcomings of Asian characters just to portray them as inclusive and relevant humans.
For Asian Americans, the response to anti media in the anti Asia must be done confidently, with emphasis on raising confidence, not editing other people meaninglessly. In movies and literary works by Asian Americans, there is little if any direct conflict with whites. Even innovative ethnic works such as John Okada 's No - No Boy and Wayne Wang' eat tea bowl 'are mainly from Asians. Condemnation of white characters is limited to conscious flow, or at best temper at all. The protagonists usually end up positively because the cultural differences are overcome, and perhaps they imagine the future that they can belong to the United States.
From the concept of media and the depiction of Asian Americans, "Advertising depicts the range in which expectation is built and strengthened, reaching the theory of expectation that there is the possibility of putting excessive pressure on minority group" (Taylor & Lee, 1994). . The theory of expectation explains that the portrayal of a person in the media will have some expectation for the people in question, and if these expectations are not met, it will be the source of prejudice. For example, Asian Americans are expected to work well in science and mathematics; they will feel negative when individuals are pressured to meet the needs of stereotypes. A theory like planting theory explains ways to make minority's assimilation more difficult, as depictions of minorities in the media, stereotypes of the media will allow people to actually accept those stereotypes (Bryant, & Oliver, 2008). )
