Introduction During the past quarter century, support for understanding the importance of the relationship between poor living conditions and bad health is increasing. These conditions are known as social determinants of health. Policy makers are strongly promoting research on non-medical determinants of health, rather than the narrow thinking of choice of traditional therapies and lifestyles (Mikkonen, Raphael 2010). Income and income distribution are considered to be the most important factors in social determinants of health as they further affect other healthy social determinants such as low-income households.

While admitting that wages have stagnated over decades, we demonize public aid. The incumbent president ran for "working", but we are embarrassed that we do not have employment.
