What is politics? Throughout history, people have participated in politics at various levels. They may participate through direct democratic participation under direct jurisdiction, or may participate through representative democracy, and they may participate through election representatives. As citizens, people participate in politics to get what they need and what they want, and to get valuable things. Participation in politics is a way for people to voicel and change the way they directly affect their lives.
Last year I read the history of America and have tried to understand what happened in American politics today (what is President Donald Trumph?). My overall conclusion is as follows. 1) Things do not look so bad. 2) It will be very interesting for the next few years. Let's start with some history. In American political science, there is a general framework to think about various eras of American political history called "realignment theory". My favorite theoretical version is a wonderful analysis of Stephen Skowronek's presidential politics. In his analysis, there is obvious legitimacy in any historical era. The reconstructed US president (thinks Lincoln) has formed a legislation federation to clarify legitimacy and set an agenda. This legitimacy dominates, the alliance will continue to legislate this agenda for decades to come.
Throughout history, every era and every industrial revolution created new power structure, class, political thought. Given the current political situation, in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we are urgently needing a new kind of politics that transcends traditional political ideology and transcends old ideas I believe. The purpose of politics is to enable social members to work together to achieve important human goals that can not be achieved by one person alone. Through negotiations, debates, legislation and other political structures, politics gains domestic safety, order and general welfare. As is evident from intense discussions among political parties, the precise purpose of politics is one of the biggest and most decisive problems in philosophy.
